Each year the Silverado Country Club and Resort holds a fireworks display on July 3. I was unable to view them from the grounds of the country club this year which would have allowed an unobstructed view, but as it turned out I really like the silhouettes of the trees captured in some of the shots. The above shots were taken from a wooded hillside location approximately 1/2 mile northeast. This was my first attempt at photographing a fireworks display and I'm pretty happy with the results. While they are not all the best in terms of technique, I still find something about each of them that pleases me. Now if I could just capture the effects in glass in my lampwork beads!
